Fall Series Qi Gong

qi gong.JPG

Qi gong (“chee gong”) is an age-old health cultivation practice from China that incorporates postures and movements, breathing, and visualization, intended to bring about a deep feeling of vitality and vibrancy. More than just exercise, Qi gong is a philosophy of life that cultivates healing, wellness and wisdom.

In this six-week class, we will explore the Fall season, the time of harvest. Through a variety of forms including self-massage, Zhan Zhuang (“Standing Like A Tree”), Immune Boosting Qi Gong and parts of one of the oldest recorded forms of qi gong known as the Eight Treasures, we will delve into the fundamental philosophies of Chinese medicine and learn to live more in harmony with the season of Autumn. We will discuss the movements themselves, diet and lifestyle in relation to the changing season.

Please bring a comfortable cushion or chair, with a blanket &/or mat for lying down meditation, and if you like to take notes, a notepad and pen. As always, wear loose comfortable clothing, and bring layers for warmth.

Cost: $15/class or $80 for full series
